Story Roulette is a game designed by human machine to help improve your storytelling, public speaking, and synthesis skills. Oh, and it's also a ton of fun. You can practice it alone, or play with friends, family, and even an entire audience.

How to Play Story Roulette

Basic Rules:

❶ When you press the begin button, you'll be given a random story prompt. You must stick to this prompt throughout your entire round of Story Roulette.

❷ A 20 second countdown timer will also begin. Start telling whatever story first comes to mind, knowing that in 20 seconds, the first of five random images will appear.

❸ After 20 seconds, the first of five images is revealed. As each image is revealed, incorporate something about it into your story. Remember, the goal of Story Roulette is to stick as closely to your original story prompt as possible.

❹ Feel free to use any aspect of the image in your narrative. Get creative, have fun, and improvise.

❺ After an additional 20 seconds, the next image will be revealed. Just like the last one, you must incorporate something about it into your story while trying to stick to the original story prompt.

❻ Continue until all images have been revealed.

There are two main ways to play Story Roulette:

Solo

One person is responsible for incorporating every image throughout the entire 2-minute story.

Collaborative

Best for 2-5 players

One person starts the story, but as each image is revealed, they pass the story on to the next person. The entire group is responsible for sticking to the original story prompt.
